Gregory Sills is one of the founding partners of Goldberg Sills LLP. A talented negotiator and skillful drafter, Greg is known for delivering pragmatic, results-oriented advice that prioritizes his clients’ best interests. He has a strong track record of guiding both employees and employers through complex workplace disputes with clarity, efficiency, and creativity. Prior to co-founding Goldberg Sills, Greg practiced at two of the nation’s prominent employment law boutiques, where he honed his ability to distill complex legal issues into clear, actionable strategies that are complimented by his background in finance. Clients value Greg’s calm and practical approach, his sharp attention to detail, and his ability to communicate the real-world implications of their legal options in a way that is both digestible and empowering.
Cases of Note:
Perretta v Rand A Technology Corporation (2021 ONSC 2111): a cornerstone employment law case on repudiation of contract and the unenforceability of a termination clause that is defective on its face, irrespective if there is language intended to rectify errors.
Ferguson v Yorkwest Plumbing Supply Inc. (2022 ONSC 4792): established effective grounds on which a party's pleading may be struck for refusal to participate in litigation in good faith; confirmed that the party to serve a Notice of Examination first has the right to determine the order of witnesses.
Bhaloo v Tundra Technical Solutions Inc. (2019 ONSC 1100): security for costs dispensed with despite plaintiff being ordinarily resident outside the province.
Outside the office, Greg is a dedicated husband and father. He is also an avid golfer (once competitive, now recreational), loves to travel and he remains a lifelong Edmonton Oilers fan -- loyal to his hometown roots.
